🎣 Our Scope of Care: The "How We Roll" Guide

At Fishtown Medicine, our job is to provide high-quality primary care and keep you safe. That means we handle a wide range of adult health needs, and we work closely with specialists for conditions that require more advanced or hospital-based care.

🚫 The "Not-at-Fishtown" List

We do not offer care for:

  • Anyone under age 16

  • Active suicidal thoughts with a plan or intent

  • Ongoing treatment with multiple controlled substances or antipsychotics

  • Frequent psychiatric hospitalizations

  • Pregnancy and prenatal care

  • Organ transplant care or transplant-related monitoring

  • Surgical procedures or surgical recovery

  • Emergency care that requires in-person stabilization or ER-level intervention

🧠 Mental Health & Medications

We take your brain health seriously, which means getting you the right level of support.

  • Complexity is for Specialists: If your journey involves multiple antipsychotics, frequent hospital visits, or specialized addiction treatment, you’ll need a dedicated Psychiatrist or Addiction Medicine team.

  • Controlled Meds: We don’t manage long-term prescriptions for controlled substances like opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants. 💊

  • The Best Part: If you already have a specialist managing your plan, we are here to coordinate and build on your foundations and lifestyle to keep your health on track! 🤝

✨ How We Still Show Up for You

  • Pregnancy Support: While everyone's focused on the baby, we focus on your physical and mental health throughout the pregnancy! Let’s build for the healthiest yet - addressing movement, nutrition, comfort, stress and sleep. 💤

  • Surgical Wingman: We can’t perform the surgery, but we’re here for your pre-op clearances and care during recovery. 📋

  • The Navigation Team: If we aren't the right fit, we won’t leave you stranded. We’ll help point you toward the specialist who is! 🗺️
